First Blog Post!

Hello and welcome to my food blog, Pinch of Patrick. I am ecstatic to be able to share the recipes with you that I have been cooking for a while. My goal is to create delicious and approachable recipes that you will be able to make for your friends and family.

Cooking Philosophy

I can't stress this enough - I am NOT a fan of recipes. I find them to be confusing, hard to follow, and an absolute distraction from the essence of cooking. In my opinion, cooking is all about ad libbing. Anytime I am in the kitchen I am constantly taste testing and adding a pinch of this or a dash of that. However, my spontaneity results in periodic inconsistencies and the occasional eye-roll when people ask for my recipes and all I have to offer is a ramble of ingredients and measurements.

Given my cooking style and aversion to recipes you might find it a little odd that you are reading this on a blog featuring them. What I hope to achieve - that's different from other blogs and cookbooks - is to write recipes that are delicious and have comprehensible steps with demonstrations.
